In most of our fairytales, we have been hearing from ages that the Princess or the damsel is always in distress and looks out of her window and sees — poof! Here comes a knight in shining armour, a prince on a white horse. He kills the villain(s) and sweeps the princess off her feet. He takes her to his kingdom or saves her life with a true love’s kiss.
But is it necessary for the prince to save her? Can she not save herself and stand on her own two feet? I believe that a princess can be dainty but that doesn’t mean that she can’t sustain herself. She doesn’t always need a man to be dependant upon. She can be sweet as well as powerful. A supportive and significant other must help her achieve success and not put out the fire of determination inside her. Some day I want to see her rise and watch her burn across the sky…
