I shall wait for it, always…
I saw a trail of pawprints
Not knowing where they led
I decided to follow them
Up the winding road ahead
— — —
For a distance, they went
Upon the curvy muddy path
Then they shifted over
To the soft green grass
— — —
From there they led on
To the glimmering blue stream
Then the pawprints were joined by
Water droplets to form a team
— — —
Over the tall bushes and
Knotted roots I ventured
Hoping to get this
Stealthy creature pictured
— — —
But then due to my beaten luck
The trail went till the tarred roadway
Then left me standing by myself
Leaving me alone with my dismay
— — —
I hope to find that creature soon
And ask it why it left me
To go back to my silent abode
With nothing on my camera to see
— — —
So I’m always prepared with my camera
In case it decides to stroll along
To store the memory in my heart
Where with me forever it will belong
